A SHOWPIECE OF SPANISH HERITAGE
Home to Four Seasons Hotel Madrid, the innovative Centro Canalejas unites a collection of seven historical buildings, all impeccably restored and reimagined. The oldest part of the complex, originally El Palacio de la Equitativa, dates back to 1887. The dramatic rotunda, topped by a copper cupola, towers over the corner of Calle de Sevilla and Calle de Alcalá. Equally impressive is the neighbouring façade of the Banco Hispano Americano headquarters, begun in 1902 and today forming the main entrance to the luxury shops of La Galería de Canalejas.
“We are very excited to give locals and visitors alike the opportunity to step inside our beautiful reborn landmark.”Christoph Schmidinger General Manager
- EXPERIENCE FLAMENCO
Madrid is food. It’s fiesta. It’s flamenco. This iconic dance is not “just for tourists” – Madrileños have a genuine love for this Andalusian dance form, designated Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2010. There are plenty of small tablaos to enjoy a performance alongside locals, away from the tourist crowds. We can even plan a private lesson.
- TOUR THE PASEO DEL ARTE
Four Seasons is an easy walk to three of the world’s best art museums, including The Prado with its masterworks by Velázquez, the Thyssen-Bornemisza with spectacular pieces by the Impressionists, and the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, home to Pablo Picasso’s “Guernica.” Let us arrange a private tour with an expert art consultant as your guide.Details
- TASTE THE MERCADO DE SAN MIGUEL
Let us orchestrate a tasting tour of Madrid’s most popular market – just a 10-minute walk from Four Seasons. Originally built in 1916, the iron structure was renovated and reopened in 2009. Not a traditional grocery market, this is a gourmet tapas market. Explore over 30 vendors selling freshly prepared hams, olives, baked goods and other foods. Beer, wine and champagne are available for sipping.Details
