At Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto, we are committed to preserving and regenerating the environment and leaving a positive, enduring impact on our local community. The kitchen team at EMBA KYOTO GRILL applies a root-to-shoot approach to each ingredient where imperfect fruit is transformed into gelée, sauces and reductions, and vegetable, meat and seafood trimmings make flavour-packed stocks
Food waste reduction program in place, including diligent training, tracking and auditing
: Local artists and artisans are featured throughout our Hotel, including works from painters, sculptors and potters that capture the abundant beauty of Kyoto and celebrate its culture and aesthetic
Employees complete annual Human Trafficking Awareness training
Employees volunteer in the local community, including supporting the annual Terry Fox Run and hosting educational programs for high school

Kyoto Terry Fox Run 2026

Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 8:30 am to 11:00 am

Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto is proud to host the city’s Terry Fox Run. This inspiring event celebrates courage, hope and the relentless fight against cancer. Inspired by Canadian hero Terry Fox, every step you take helps support vital cancer research at Kyoto University’s Cancer Immunotherapy and Immunobiology Center. Participants can make a donation of JPY 4,000, 6,000 or 10,000, and those who make a donation will receive a commemorative Terry Fox Run T-shirt.
