- Large refillable in-room bath amenities are featured, reducing single use plastic waste
- Makana Honua bath products, which use locally sourced ingredients from Hawaii Island, are provided
- Under our Green Linen Program, our housekeeping team changes linens every three days, reducing water consumption by more than 7,000,000 gallons annually
- Each guest has the option to donate to a local non-profit, Hawaiian Legacy Hardwoods, with each night spent at Hualalai

ENERGY CONSERVATION
- We have installed Lutron system controls for meeting space and guest room lights
- LED bulbs are used throughout the property for energy efficiency
- Landscaping lights and watering systems are on timers and need-sensitive programs
- Our pools use salt technology, which is friendlier to environment, skin, hair and fabric
- Water flow efficiency faucets are featured in all guest rooms
Marine Education
- Ocean conservation education is offered through our Alaka'i Nalu and the Kumu Kai Marine Education Center programming
- We offer periodic beach clean-ups that are open to guests
- A 10-year fishing moratorium along the Kaupulehu coast fronting our Resort was implemented in 2016, restricting removal of any species in the zone through 2026
Golf Course Maintenance
- Three weather stations on property measure sunlight intensity, relative humidity, wind, temperature and rainfall, and communicate to our irrigation computers, ensuring efficient watering occurs
- Each golf course features sand-based greens, reducing water usage
