Alessandro Nigro Imperiale

Best Sommelier of Italy 2022 & Sommelier of the Year 2023 by French restaurant guide Gault&Millau
Overseeing the wine cellar of the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, Alessandro shares his passion for oenology with hotel and Le Cap guests daily.

Alessandro has curated a special collection with numerous French labels and a selection of Italian and Spanish wines – a nod to the neighbouring countries’ shared Mediterranean soul and way of life. The wine cellar boasts wines ranging from the greatest of Burgundy and Champagne to the elegant Barolos and volcanic whites of Tenerife.

    Salon des Collections

    Our cellar holds one of the world’s most spectacular wine collections, including 158 vintage bottles of Château d’Yquem dating to 1854 (1854–2003) and 21 bottles of Château Lafite Rothschild dating to 1799 (1799–1899). Alessandro will find the perfect wines to accompany your menu.

Wine, the nectar that bonds people since the dawn of history, has always been my reason for travelling and exploring the world. Today, I share with our guests the gems of the Mediterranean coast, certainly with an Italian accent.
