Our Director of Marketing’s Favourite Annual Event

– Katie Mitchell, Director of Marketing

“Each spring, the non-profit organization Circo de los Niños de San Pancho (Children's Circus of San Pancho, from Cirque du Soleil) prepares an awe-inspiring presentation to raise funds for their children’s program, which encourages artistic, technical and personal development of local children through various circus and dance disciplines. Everyone in the greater Banderas Bay area eagerly anticipates this annual spectacular. If you’re visiting us during the spring, it’s a must see! Our Concierge will be pleased to help you secure tickets and arrange transportation to San Pancho, about 45 minutes away from the Resort.”

Our Assistant Front Desk Manager’s Favourite Market

– Alejandra Peña, Assistant Front Desk Manager

“Every Sunday from November through April, the La Cruz Sunday Market shows off its colourful stalls, enticing food and live entertainment by local musicians. You’ll find amazing souvenirs here, including authentic artwork such as paintings, sculptures, Huichol art and more. Everything is handmade and unique, with the touch and love that each local artisan prints on their piece.”

Where our Bahía Server Dines on His Day Off

– Armando Zazueta, Bahía Restaurant Server

“Fish Chicharrón (crispy fried filets to make tacos) is a typical preparation of the state of Nayarit. The best version I’ve found is from Las Higueras Restaurant in Valle de Banderas, about a 50-minute drive from the Resort. The delicious dish is served with handmade tortillas and accompanied by a beautiful view of a lagoon, filled with iguanas, turtles and ducks. It’s a place that’s worth a visit to discover good food and a lovely Mexican landscape.”

A Dose of Nature from Our Director of Agronomy

– Shane Eble, Director of Agronomy

“If you love flora and fauna, I recommend visiting the beautiful Lo de Perla Jungle Garden near San Pancho, about 45 minutes away from the Resort. Here, you can walk through the lush rainforest ecosystem filled with orchids, bromeliads and other native plant species. It’s truly spectacular! Be sure to wear comfortable sneakers or hiking boots, as well as long sleeves and pants.”

Where our PR & Communications Director Shops for Gifts

– Miguel Peregrina, Public Relations & Communications Director

“I think one of the coolest boutiques around is Revolución del Sueño, about 25 minutes away from the Resort in the town of Sayulita. This chic little retail mecca sells everything from t-shirts and jewellery to pillows and contemporary Mexican art. You can find very unique gifts (or souvenirs for yourself!) here.”

What our Concierge Recommends Sipping

– Georgina Ramírez, Concierge / Les Clefs d’Or Member

“‘The “Tejuino’ is a traditional drink based on corn and cane candy, served with lemon and salt. Its creation comes from the Tarahumara, Coras and Huichol ethnic groups and is also called "the drink of the Gods", because it is used in sacred rituals. It’s an authentic and refreshing beverage to sip on during a hot afternoon, and it can be found in a variety of places: markets, Tianguis and public squares of Puerto Vallarta and Bahía de Banderas. Try it with “lemon snow” crushed ice, and if you’re looking for a cocktail, drink it with Tequila.”

How our Conference Services Manager Gets Her Steps In

– Adriana Ruiz, Conference Services Manager

“If you’re looking to get in some physical activity during your stay, I recommend hiking up to Cerro del Mono (Monkey Hill), just 20 minutes away from the Resort. Arrive early and follow the tropical path for about an hour and a half up to the top of the hill for amazing, illuminated views of the Bay. Our culinary team can even pack you a picnic with breakfast or lunch treats.”
