Our new 1,100-square-foot Yoga Studio features arguably the best views, generous personal space and comfort, and a dynamic spread of ten Aerial Yoga hammocks. Our multifaceted instructors offer a variety of complimentary indoor and outdoor classes such as Tai Chi, meditation, and yoga for any level. To maximize your Lanai experience, we’ve also adapted yoga classes for other environments such as the beach and our Luau Grounds. Many studio classes are complimentary and are listed in the daily schedule available in the Fitness Center or at the hotel front desk. For a highly personalized experience, private classes for individuals and groups are available upon request.
Rajanish Govind, Resort Yogi
Inspired by Sadguru Mani Swamy at Sadguru Yogashram Palakkad, located in Kerala, India, Rajanish started his yoga journey at the age of 15. His yoga practices and teachings emphasize a variety of styles, including Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Power Yoga, Kriya Yoga, Therapeutic Yoga and Vipassana Meditation. In addition, he provides private and group yoga instruction, yoga therapy, pregnancy yoga, lectures on yoga philosophy and more at the Resort. Rajanish has also undergone training for Anti-Gravity yoga from founder, Christopher Harrison.
Gentle Yoga: An intuitive group class that features personal modifications and emphasizes integrating mind, body, spirit and breath- all within a playful, safe environment. Together, we will come into the breath and quiet the mind as we find steadiness in our bodies.
Intensive Hatha: A variety of strenuous yoga postures that are held for an extended period of time. The practice will focus on generating an awareness of breath while moving through an intermediate posture practice.
Power Yoga: Build concentration, flexibility and muscle tone with this athletic yoga flow. Playing within the collective group energy, work to cleanse the body and calm the mind throughout this cardiovascular and strength-building yoga practice.
Restorative Yoga: A relaxing style of yoga that is intended to be healing and nurturing for the body. Props are heavily used in order to maximally open the body and slow down the mind through passive stretching.
Sunrise Yoga: A joyful start to the morning in this mixed level yoga class. Focusing on alignment, breathing and energizing your body, this practice will start your day perfectly as you connect with nature during a peaceful sunrise on the beach.
Sunset Yoga: A grounding practice that acclimates your body and soul to the setting sun. Set your intention and focus as this gentle yoga practice will allow the body and mind to soften as you unwind the energy of the day.
Vinyasa Flow: A coordinated flow combining movement and breath. This mixed level practice intends to heat the body, activate the nervous system and calm the mind.
Aerial Yoga: Silk hammocks welcome all levels in an AntiGravity® Yoga session that boasts many stress and pain-relieving benefits. Restore length and openness in your spine during this fun and liberating class.
