- The Resort is certified to EarthCheck Silver, a third-party certification program for hospitality properties.
- Electric vehicle (EV) charging stations are available for guest use.
- The Resort measures and tracks energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, water use and waste generation through Four Seasons global utility management system.
- Vegan and vegetarian menu items are available.
- Linens and towels are replaced every third day, unless otherwise requested.
- Guest room controls and building systems support optimizing energy consumption throughout the property.
- Building systems and fixtures support optimizing water consumption throughout the property, including through the use of TOTO Washlets.
- Irrigation and landscaping are designed to optimize water use.
- Single-use plastics, including water bottles, bathroom amenities and takeaway food packaging, have been removed or replaced with non-plastic alternatives.
- Guests receive complimentary insulated refillable bottles (two maximum per room) to use at FloWater drinking water refill stations located around the Resort.
- A recycling program is in place.
- Food waste is diverted from landfill and donated to local farmers for agricultural use.
- Cooking oil is recycled into biofuel by a third-party provider.
- Over 75% of the Resort’s food and beverage ingredients are sourced from local farmers, fisheries and purveyors.
- Produce is sourced from on-island Sensei Farms, which grows in indoor solar-powered hydroponic greenhouses.
- The Resort serves cage-free eggs.
- A food waste reduction program is in place, including AI-enabled tools to identify, monitor and reduce food waste.
- Waters off our coast have been declared a Marine Reserve to promote resilience in our reef.
- Complimentary reef-friendly sun care products are available for guests.
- The Resort participates in botanical preservation project to reintroduce awikiwiki, a federally endangered perennial vine, to the Manele area.
- The Resort has Arboretum Accreditation by the Morton Register of Arboreta, recognizing professional standards and capabilities in a shared purpose to plant and conserve trees and advance goals specific to tree-focused public gardens.
- Love Lanai Cultural Advisors and Cultural Practitioner and Historian offer programming including tours, demonstrations and cultural experiences where guests can explore Lanai’s bio-cultural landscape and experience the island’s unique spirit and historical legacy, spanning nearly 1,000 years of Hawaiian residency.
- Lanai Observatory provides educational programming for local students and community members as well as internship opportunities for Hawaiian students.
- Employees complete annual Human Trafficking Awareness training.
- Employees volunteer in the local community through fundraising and participation in local charitable events, island clean-ups and conservation projects.
- The Resort prioritizes sourcing from suppliers that meet our environmental and social procurement criteria.
- Spa products are regionally sourced, mineral-based and cruelty-free.
- The kukui (candlenut) used in our bath amenity collection was collected locally from the bountiful aina (land) of Hawaii.
- Suppliers are encouraged to reduce unnecessary packaging.
