Costa Rica is a playground for kids and their families. Go horseback riding or hiking, play soccer on the beach, learn how to scuba dive – or let our specially trained staff entertain the kids while the adults enjoy an afternoon by the pool or a romantic dinner for two.
Highlight
- Kids For All Seasons
From 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, kids ages 4 through 12 can enjoy outdoor activities immersed in nature or crafts and games indoors with Tiquito, the Papagayo mascot, at our Children’s Centre. Our complimentary Kids For All Seasons program activities change daily, always keeping your kids entertained.
- Tuanis Teen Center
Named after the Costa Rican expression for “too cool,” this teens-only clubhouse is just steps from the basketball court and comes equipped with a flat-screen TV, DVDs, a pool table, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and complimentary internet.
Family Fun
- Golf Outings
Designed by Arnold Palmer and ranked among the world’s top courses, Ocean Course at Peninsula Papagayo welcomes families for 18 holes of scenic play. Introduce your kids to the game with a golf lesson, or ask about our Family Golf Experience, which includes lunch for the group.
Details - Trail of Giants
Take a guided tour through the tropical dry forest surrounding the golf course, certified by the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, and spot endangered birds, monkeys, iguanas, butterflies – and more than 25 species of giant trees.
- Hiking
Providing a convenient opportunity to witness nature in the Costa Rican forest, the Resort offers its own hiking trail. The route extends approximately 1 kilometre (0.6 miles) from the beach on one side of the peninsula up the hillside and down to the beach on the other side. The stairs and pathways are well-maintained for families.
