Taste of Place is a collection of culinary and beverage experiences inviting you to sample local food culture in Four Seasons destinations around the world. At participating properties, travellers and locals with an appetite for exploration can enjoy exclusive tours, tastings, classes and dining experiences—each orchestrated by area experts and unfolding in unforgettable settings.
Set amongst the charming and picturesque town of Ojai Valley sits one of Southern California's largest and most pristine olive oil orchards, owned and operated by Ojai Olive Oil Company. Hundreds of the olive oil trees that surround the ranch were planted from 1860 to 1880 and produce some of the world's purest olive oils. Today, seven varieties and more than 3,000 olive trees stand on acres upon acres of cultivated land. The trees are organic and sustainably pruned yearly according to European practices. The fruit is harvested by hand and the oils are produced on site in an olive mill that was manufactured in Tuscany. Ojai Olive Oil Company produces three award-winning extra-virgin olive oils, five extra-virgin olive oils infused with fruits and herbs, and 10 balsamic vinegars imported from Modena, Italy.
Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village has partnered with award-winning boutique olive oil orchard, Ojai Olive Oil Company, to bring you an inside look at the world-renowned olive oils of California, where 95 percent of the nation's olive oil is produced. The history of olive oil has deep roots in California, with the first oils produced in the 1700s. Ojai Olive Oil company, a one-hour drive from the Hotel, hosts an organic orchard, oil-pressing facility, and on-site tasting room. Each olive is hand-picked and sorted to produce specific flavours and qualities in the olive oil.
Guests of the Taste of Place package will receive a private tour of Ojai Olive Oil Company's orchard and ranch with the proprietor of the brand, an olive oil tasting, and will learn first hand about the production and health benefits of olive oil. The apex of the experience is a dinner
prepared by the Four Seasons team of culinary experts on the ranch, highlighting Ojai Olive Oil in each dish and paired with local Malibu Coast wines.

You are invited to visit the Concierge to plan a tour of the Ojai Olive Oil Company. The orchard offers complimentary educational talks and tasting Wednesday's from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm and Saturday's from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Tasting Room at the ranch is also open daily from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm for sampling and purchasing.
