Even More Reasons to Book your Event in Mauritius
As of June 2019, the Mauritius government introduced a Value Added Tax act that allows event organizers to claim a refund of VAT on their events. The criteria for the tax refund is as follows: The event organizer must be registered with the Economic Development Board. A qualifying event refers to a business meeting, conference or wedding attended by 100 or more visitors staying for a minimum of three nights in a hotel in Mauritius. VAT invoices must be submitted within 60 days of the event.
