FAQ
Napa Valley Harvest Season is from August to October. The valley comes alive with the harvest of grapes during Crush Season, beginning with white and sparkling wine grapes, followed by red wine grapes. Our Resort and the surrounding wineries host a variety of celebrations to herald the season.
It varies from year to year because of weather throughout the growing season. Typically, the busiest time of year in Napa Valley is August to November, with Harvest Season starting around the end of August for about six weeks. Sparkling wine and white wine grapes are the first to be harvested about the second half of August. In September and October, harvest continues for remaining white wines, and red varieties are picked later in the season. The crush parties, harvest dinners and other events are in full swing during these months. In cooler weather years, from late October to early November, harvest may continue for late season red varieties.
While it’s not a common offering, a few select wineries in Napa Valley do provide guests with the unique experience of grape picking or stomping. These exclusive experiences are usually reserved for wine club members and come with a fee. However, some standout options are available to the public. The Napa Valley Wine Train offers a grape stomping experience, and The Estate Yountville hosts their annual Crush It Harvest Festival in October – perfect for families and friends looking to join in on the fun.
Napa Valley is full of exciting events and festivals during the Harvest Season. Visitors can enjoy unique experiences such as hands-on vineyard tours, exclusive wine tastings and gourmet dinners.
