Storied Architecture
It’s not every day you get to stay in a century-old Turkish prison, refurbished to make a good hotel in Sultanahmet, Istanbul. Our building was designed by Mimar Kemaleddin Bey beginning in 1918 as a prime example of Turkish neoclassical architecture, with an emphasis on pointed arches, ornate tiles, dramatic domes and towers.
