FAQ
Absolutely. Whistler transforms into a vibrant alpine playground in the summer, with lush trails, glacial lakes, world-class biking and an abundance of outdoor adventures. With mild mountain temperatures, long daylight hours and fewer crowds than in the winter, it's the perfect time to explore British Columbia's natural beauty and unwind at Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler, your basecamp for it all.
Whistler enjoys warm, mostly sunny summers with noticeably less rainfall than coastal British Columbia. July and August are the warmest months, with daytime highs typically around 22 to 25°C (72 to 77°F), while June sits a little cooler at 18 to 22°C (64 to 72°F) with lingering snow on the higher peaks. September brings crisp mornings and highs near 18°C (64°F), a favourite time for hiking before the shoulder season arrives. Mountain nights stay cool throughout, so a light layer is always wise. Long alpine daylight, up to 16 hours in late June, gives guests generous time to fill with summer activities and experiences.
Whistler offers something for everyone in the summer. Highlights include mountain biking at Whistler Bike Park; hiking trails with panoramic alpine views; swimming, paddleboarding and canoeing at Lost Lake or Alta Lake; Peak 2 Peak Gondola rides between Whistler and Blackcomb; golfing, ziplining and bungee jumping; and wellness activities at our Resort, such as yoga, e-biking and guided walks.
Whistler is the ultimate family destination in the warmer months. Kids and parents alike can enjoy picnics and swimming at Rainbow Park, nature scavenger hunts and bike rides along the Valley Trail, hiking the Train Wreck Trail, Ziptrek eco tours and aerial obstacle courses. On-site activities include kids’ programming, crafts, outdoor games and evening s’mores by the firepit.
Outdoor lovers can embrace a wide variety of experiences like hiking and trail running through forests and meadows; biking mountain trails and lakeside paths; canoeing, kayaking and paddleboarding on the lake; fishing, golfing, rock climbing and horseback riding; and helicopter tours, glacier hikes and scenic floatplane adventures. Complimentary e-bikes, yoga and guided nature walks are available for in-house guests.
A three- to five-day stay is ideal to soak in Whistler’s summer offerings, balancing high-energy adventure with moments of relaxation. Whether you’re here for adrenaline-filled excursions, serene spa time or culinary discovery, our Resort is the perfect place to unwind in between experiences.
