Couples Sizzlin' Summer
Take a stroll around the fabulous Gold Coast neighbourhood and explore the many shops on Oak Street. Then head a few blocks over to the River North neighbourhood to Ikram for shopping and dine in the hidden gem cafe. Finish the light snack with a liquor infused cupcake at More Cupcakes on the way back to the Hotel.
Dine like you’re in Manhattan at the elegantly chic Spiaggia. Each visit to the award-winning creative Italian cuisine restaurant is sure to be an occasion to remember. Or, venture over to Halsted for Piccolo Sogno for a regional, handmade Italian meal. Be sure to ask to dine on their great outdoor patio – it’s the perfect escape.
Start the day at Perennial for farm-to-table brunch. The Vie Bread French Toast and Vanilla Toffee Sticky Buns are a must!
Walk off the delicious carbs and head North to Green City Market, featuring Star Chefs demonstrations and sustainable food education.
Afternoon in Old Town
Venture off to Old Town for a visit to Glunz Tavern for the only prohibition era speakeasy in Chicago (opened in 1888). Along the way visit:
- St. Michael's Cathedral
- Luxury Garage Sale for a well curated selection of vintage designer finds at fabulous prices
- Spice Merchant and pick up spices and oils for a special additive to your favourite dish back home
- Check out Heff's old place at the original Playboy mansion
Take a tour of CH Distillery and have drinks before dinner at Chicago’s only distillery cocktail bar! Check out Cindy’s, one of the hottest rooftop bars in the city with panoramic views of Millennium Park, the Art Institute and more. Start with the shellfish platter and chef selections of charcuterie and end with the confit pork belly or grilled cobia loin. Or continue the night on Randolph for a selection of drinks at City Winery where there a variety of local flavours to try as well as variety of concerts and shows – your one stop shop for a great evening.
Start the day with a bike ride on a Divvy bike. Venture to Cupitol, a casual bakery and coffee shop, or Kanela Breakfast Club. The eateries, located across the street from each other, are frequented by Streeterville residents. After breakfast, set out on the beautiful Lakefront Trail, an 18-mile paved path showcasing Lake Michigan’s expansive shoreline.
