Three Palaces, One Legendary Hotel
One of the most illustrious and historic hotels in Venice, the Danieli is composed of three interconnecting palaces that date back to the 15th, 19th and 20th centuries. Completed in the late 1400s on the wishes of the Doge Enrico Dandolo, the Palazzo Dandolo was created as a private home and lodging place to welcome princes, cardinals and ambassadors. In 1822, the ornately decorated palace was converted to a hotel by Giuseppe Dal Niel, who named the property after his personal nickname, “Danieli.” This Venice luxury hotel quickly attracted many celebrated guests – from Lord Byron and Balzac to Dickens and Proust. In 1906, the hotel was expanded to include the adjoining 19th-century palace, the Palazzo Casa Nuova, originally built as the city’s treasury. The final expansion occurred in 1951 with the construction of the Palazzo Excelsior, the most recent wing of the hotel. Today, reborn as Four Seasons, the Danieli offers the epitome of modern luxury, interlaced with the rich history of Venice.

Venice has always inspired the world’s imagination. At the Danieli, we open the door to authentic cultural connections – collaborating with local craftspeople and celebrating the beauty of everyday life in the city.
