At Naviva®, design is not merely aesthetic – it’s a living dialogue with nature. Every curve, texture and material whispers of the land it springs from, honouring Mexico’s rich artisanal heritage and the rhythms of the wild. Spaces breathe with the forest, open to the sky and cradling the soul in simplicity. Sustainability is not an afterthought – it’s the heartbeat of our design, woven into hand-carved wood, sun-warmed stone, and textiles dyed by earth and tradition. Here, architecture dissolves into landscape, and guests are gently invited to not just witness nature but to become part of it.
  • Luxury resort bungalow nestled in jungle foliage

Design Philosophy: NATURE AS THE ARCHITECT

Our 15-bungalow Resort was imagined from the ground up, guided by the land itself. The forest, the coastline, and the patterns of wind and light shape the the Resort’s form and flow. Through biophilic design, natural rhythms inform every detail, from the roofline’s curve to the shadows’ play on bamboo. Every space is designed with sensory precision. Light, texture and sound are layered with intention to calm the mind and restore balance. The result is an environment that encourages presence and connection to nature.

Capullo Landing: A JOURNEY OF TRANSFORMATION

Arrival begins not with check-in but with a crossing through Capullo Landing, a bamboo cocoon inspired by metamorphosis. A timber bridge sways gently above a forest ravine, leading to a woven tunnel that curves like a chrysalis. The design narrows focus and quiets the mind, inviting guests into the stillness of sanctuary.

Wellness: ARCHITECTURE OF THE SOUL

  • A heated dome shaped room surrounded by trees.

Naviva’s wellness spaces are inspired by nature’s own geometry. The Spa Pods take their form from the seed vessels of the sacred ceiba tree, long regarded as a symbol of life in Mexico. Each pod faces either sunrise or sunset, connecting guests to the daily rhythm of light. Constructed from laminated bamboo and petate-inspired panels, they convey softness and serenity.

Nearby, the Temazcal, crafted from stone, bamboo and lime plaster, pays homage to ancient purification rituals. The circular womb-like chamber invites quiet reflection and renewal.

MEXICAN ARTISANS: CRAFTING WITH SOUL

  • Smoke emerges from traditional Mayan copal pipe

Naviva’s design is an ongoing collaboration with Mexico’s master artisans. Every piece reflects generations of knowledge and the touch of human hands. Textiles by ANORA Casa, furniture by Taracea and Baufaktory, and artworks by Manuel Vargas, Caralarga, and Abel Macias bring warmth and character to every space.

These creations carry their makers’ stories, ensuring that Naviva feels not only of Mexico but deeply connected to it.

  • COPAL: THE HEART OF GATHERING

At the centre of Naviva is Copal, a space that feels less like a restaurant and more like a beloved Mexican home. Here, cooking, dining and play flow together in a dance of textures and stories. From the Hombre Wall’s gradient concrete to the bamboo ceiling waves that ripple with the breeze, every detail speaks of place. Artworks and bespoke furniture celebrate fire, community and craft – making Copal a living canvas of Mexican conviviality.

    ROOTED IN RESPONSIBILITY

Sustainability shapes every aspect of design at Naviva. Local stone becomes side tables and pathways. Fallen trees are transformed into benches and hooks. Rainwater is captured through Copal’s roof and returned to the landscape. SOURCE Hydropanels generate renewable drinking water on-site, reducing waste. Solar panels and passive cooling minimize energy use, while permeable paths and recycled water systems protect the surrounding forest. Every choice honors the land that gives Naviva its life.
