The aquathermal circuit at the new Kai Holo Spa
At Kai Holo Spa, Treatments are Rooted in Ritual
Maui’s latest spa sanctuary blends native ingredients with cutting-edge care.
At the new Kai Holo Spa at Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, local ingredients and cutting-edge technology align in an array of offerings, from traditional lomi lomi massage and black-sea-salt soaks to state-of-the-art cryotherapy toning and infrared light therapy.

In transforming the property’s spa (its name, Kai Holo, means “flowing tide”), the acclaimed architecture and design firm Meyer Davis has created moments of pause. The tranquil new spaces reflect Maui’s dramatic landscape with cascading water features and a black granite wall reminiscent of volcanic rock. “Every experience is designed to unfold like the tide—effortless, restorative—connecting body, mind, and spirit to the essence of Hawaii,” says Pat Makozak, senior spa director.
At the heart of the spa is the aquathermal circuit, where guests can move between a cold plunge, a vitality pool, and a sensory experience shower before or after treatments. These wellness offerings range from modern longevity-boosting biohacks (like a hyperbaric oxygen chamber) to the signature botanical-based Queen’s Garden Ritual, which begins with a massage incorporating native fern oils and concludes with a volcanic lava mask that is wrapped in ti leaves.

“Wellness has always been part of our fabric,” says Makozak. “Kai Holo Spa marks a new chapter, offering guests a thoughtful balance between restoration and innovation.”
