Molly had always dreamt of a beach wedding, and Four Seasons Hotel Alexandria at San Stefano offered her and her fiancé the setting they wanted and the city location that would be convenient for their guests. “The Hotel itself looks like a palace,” she says. “It is so elegant and beautiful, there could not have been a better location for us.”

The Scene: With the help of wedding planner Ihab Gohar, the Hotel built a unique setting to host 1,000 relatives and friends on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. The bride, a culinary school graduate, worked with the catering team to create a global menu, including a seated dinner for 500 guests and an interactive buffet for the remaining 500. Four large kitchens were built to represent different continents, and each had three mini stations offering a variety of international cuisines. “I’m not sure if there are many hotels that can accomplish this for 500 guests,” Molly says.

Magical Moment: As the newlyweds shared their first dance to a cover of Etta James’ “At Last” by the band Fuse, the night sky lit up with fireworks. “It felt incredible,” says the bride.

The Bride and Groom: While the wedding had a vintage Belle Époque theme, the couple chose a contemporary orange colour palette to represent the groom’s Dutch heritage.

The Bride Wore: Molly wore a custom gown by designer Celestina Agostina and white silk Christian Louboutin pumps. The dress was inspired by both her personality and Grace Kelly’s style.

A Personal Touch: The bride expected to borrow a necklace and a pair of earrings from her grandmother, but on the day of the wedding she was surprised to learn that the jewellery was a gift for her to keep: “It was a very emotional and special moment.”
