For Lauren Scruggs and Jason Kennedy, Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas was the ideal spot for their winter wedding celebration. “I felt that it would be so special to get married in Dallas,” says Lauren. “I consider it my lifelong home, which includes so many people who have influenced me deeply.” Dallas was also a convenient halfway point between California, where Jason lives, and Florida, where he’s from. “Four Seasons was spacious enough for our guest count, and the first impression of their staff was beyond lovely,” says Lauren.

The Scene: The ethereal, wintry feel of the reception was fitting for the couple’s December nuptials. Lauren, who adores flowers, filled the room with blooms in hues of blush and nude. “The lighting was so breathtaking,” she says. “One of my favourite details of the night was the white, 18-foot Christmas tree.” Instead of ornaments, white orchids and rose gold pine cones hung from each branch. “Everything was magical,” Lauren says.

The Bride and Groom: Lauren thought Jason was on a business trip when she came home to find a white tulip–filled apartment with a candlelit pathway leading to the balcony. “[Jason] was standing in the field below, alongside the river, among candles that spelled out ‘Will you marry me?’” says Lauren. “It was one of the sweetest and most precious nights of my life.” The pair celebrated with Lauren’s best friend and her best friend’s husband, her twin sister and brother-in-law, and Jason’s parents—all of whom Jason had flown in for the proposal. “It’s a memory I will always cherish!” Lauren says.

The Bride Wore: For her ceremony, Lauren wore a Romona Keveza gown with a crystal-and-lace bodice and sheer French netting. For her reception, she changed into a custom Nardos Imam mermaid gown in blush silk faille with a sweetheart neckline and an oversize bow on the lower back.

A Personal Touch: “Because my left hand is a prosthesis, I wear my wedding ring on my right hand,” says Lauren. “Jason wanted to wear his on his right hand, too: He tattooed my nickname, ‘Lo,’ on his right ring finger in my handwriting. It represents such permanence—that we are in this together for life—and reminds us daily of beautiful restoration from tragedy.”

Magical Moment: As the newlyweds took their first turn on the dance floor as husband and wife to Keith Urban’s “Making Memories of Us,” performed by the Dallas band Cuvée, white confetti snow fell all around them.
