In 1929, Adam Diehl envisioned an oasis in the heart of nature, and among the lush vegetation of Cap de Formentor, he saw the perfect setting for a luxury resort. At the time, Formentor belonged to the family of the poet Miquel Costa i Llobera. In his poem, “El Pi de Formentor,” Costa spoke of teaching the island’s children to love the landscape as a powerful metaphor and symbol of our land.
