January

  • TELUS Winter Classic: The Whistler Blackcomb Foundation’s local charity fund-raiser is an action-packed event including fun ski and snowboard races, as well as food and wine tastings.

 

January–February

  • WinterPRIDE, a celebration of Whistler Gay and Lesbian Ski Week, features parties, dinners, film screenings and special events, and powder-filled skiing and snowboarding.

 

January–March

  • Kokanee Valley Race Series: Every Thursday, GS, Slalom and Super G races are open to adult skiers, snowboarders and telemarkers. Races alternate between Blackcomb and Whistler mountains.
  • Sprite Park Rider Series: Weekend ski and snowboard competitions in halfpipe, slopestyle, rail jam and snowcross. Open to all ages.

 

February

  • Appleton Rum Peak to Valley Race: Teams of four compete in Whistler Mountain’s top-to-bottom ski race.

 

April

  • TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival: The ninth annual spring celebration returns, including a high-energy outdoor concert series, prestigious action-sports photography and film events, demo days and non-stop parties.
  • Whistler Cup: This international ski event for athletes aged 11 to 14 is held on Whistler Mountain.

 

May

  • Showcase Showdown: This two-day quarter pipe pro-am event brings out some of the best snowboarders in the region. An easy walk from the top of the gondola, it is also a fun spectacle for sightseers.
  • Whistler Wellness Week
  • Whistler Mountain Bike Park opens for the summer in May.

 

June

  • Whistler Jazz & Blues Weekend: Whistler Village comes alive with street concerts of swing, gospel, blues, classical jazz and jazz vocals. Evening performances take place in Whistler Blackcomb's pubs and eateries.
  • The PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola opens in June.
  • Summer glacier skiing and riding begins on Blackcomb Mountain.
  • The Adventure Zone opens in June at the base of Blackcomb Mountain.
  • Alpine dining begins.

 

June–July

  • BC Bike Race: Competitors race the best singletrack in the world from Vancouver to Whistler from June 30 to July 7, 2012, solo or in teams of two, three, four or five. Learn more

 

June–October

  • The Whistler Farmer's Market takes place on the pedestrian streets of the Upper Village (adjacent to our luxury resort accommodations) every Sunday in the summer. The market features local produce from the Pemberton Valley and beyond, tasty artisan foods, live cooking demos by Whistler Chefs and live music. Choose from a selection of crafts, organic and local produce, jams, honey, baked goods, jewellery and much more. The market runs every Sunday from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm.

 

July

  • Whistler Arts Experience: Whistler's artists and performers share their talents and their works in this week of gallery tours, imaginative displays and entertainment.
  • The Whistler Dragon Boat Festival is held at Rainbow Park.
  • The BC Cup Mountain Bike Race takes place at Whistler Olympic Park, and is for professional, amateur and citizen bike racers. Competitors ride on singletrack courses throughout the Park, with professionals battling for BC Cup points and citizens for bragging rights. The 8-kilometre course has varied terrain, providing a challenge for all riders.
  • Celebrate the best of winter and summer with Nestea's Chill on the Hill all-day free party on top of Whistler Mountain. Enjoy the specially designed SnowPark, play a few games of volleyball, see live music and watch the SnowPark trick competition. Check out Whistler and Blackcomb's hiking trails and take the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola across the sky.

 

July–August

  • The Canadian National BBQ Championships is the highlight of the Pacific Northwest's competitive BBQ circuit – and a tantalising weekend of tasting and sampling. Watch master grillers at work as they compete to become Grand Champion. Located in Dusty's Bar & BBQ in Creekside.

 

October

  • Wishes – Whistler’s Wedding and Celebration Showcase: At this two-day event, learn everything you need to know about planning an unforgettable celebration in Whistler, BC. The action-packed weekend features fashion shows, a guys' lounge, exhibits, tastings and informative interactive workshops with some of the top creative minds in Whistler’s wedding and event industry. Meet a diverse range of vendors, including transportation providers, caterers, décor and floral experts, spa therapists, artists, photographers, activity operators and more.

 

November

  • Cornucopia, Whistler's Wine and Food Celebration, features four days of gourmet fun, with food, wine, events, seminars, workshops and parties. Be sure to make a reservation for the gourmet brunch held at the Resort on the last day.

 

December

  • The Whistler Film Festival features films, industry workshops, seminars, special events and parties.

 

December – January

  • Nokia Snowboard FIS World Cup: The best boarders in the world return to compete for the largest purse in North America's World Cup circuit.

 

December - April

  • 7-Eleven Fire and Ice Show: Watch skiers and snowboarders jump through rings of fire at the base of the Whistler Village Gondola.
