    Surfing

Surfing is one of the oldest continuously practised sports in the world, as well as one of the fastest growing. Captain Cook discovered the Hawaiian kings riding waves hundreds of years ago, and the sport is now practised all over Hawaii.

Experience a sport once reserved only for the Ali'i (Hawaiian chiefs) as you embark on a half-day of private surfing lessons. Champion surfer and Lanai resident Nick Palumbo will teach beginners on longboards while educating them on the island, the sport and Hawaiian culture. Advanced lessons are also available on shortboards for experienced surfers. Nick Palumbo won the Hawaii State Championship, Junior Men’s Division, and the Quicksilver Makahiki at Mahala.
