The restaurant’s glamorous interiors blend exotic leather textiles in amber, bronze and iridescent silver with flashes of turquoise. Textured coconut timber, shimmering black pearls, sea-blue glass and polished steel add to the drama. Outside, a covered patio lush with tropical plants offers a relaxed atmosphere, a live fire, and a soothing soundtrack designed to transport diners to Asian shores.

Nusantao: Sea Kitchens features authentic pan-Asian dishes prepared with theatrical flair by our multicultural culinary team. Guests are invited to take in the scene at the sushi bar, tandoor ovens, satay grill, tawa griddle, dumpling steamers and elsewhere. The pastry kitchen is open, too, turning out daily savoury specialties.
An exciting wine list with an emphasis on New World vintages showcases 40 labels, most available by the glass. Guests can sample sake by the glass or bottle, or choose a tea from one of the more extensive lists in Doha.

Nusantao – a combination of the word nusantara, meaning archipelago in ancient Javanese, and tao, a Chinese word signifying way or direction – evokes the seafaring heritage of early Arab traders, who ventured to the far reaches of Southeast Asia to trade in pearls, gems, precious woods and spices, returning to the Gulf with luxurious goods and legendary tales.
