Our Four Seasons staff is happy to help you coordinate the paperwork required to hold your wedding ceremony in Costa Rica. At your request, our wedding professional will send you the paperwork that outlines the process for the certification of your marriage. You will be asked to complete the form and send in the appropriate documentation, and your wedding professional will handle the rest. The time required for document processing, which includes translation and authentication by the consulate of your country of residence, varies, but will take at least two months. The beaches offer perfect locations for your wedding pictures, or use the entire property as the backdrop for your memories.

Orchids, birds of paradise and all types of bamboo are the most popular local flowers. Use these blooms to enhance your wedding décor, or choose from a wide range of other flowers and arrangements for your special day.

Tiki torches are available for all outdoor events. Other lighting options include:

• Water-effect lighting, which gives the illusion of water

• Spotlights from above to light a buffet, a table or a specific feature

Your wedding professional can help you choose the music for your ceremony and reception. Add local Costa Rican flavour to your event with calypso and marimba bands or salsa and merengue music.

Rehearsal dinner

Caracol, our golf club restaurant and steakhouse, is an excellent choice for a rehearsal dinner. The stunning room is modern and vast, seating 54 indoors and 22 on the terrace.

Ceremony

The beach is the ideal place for your ceremony. Romantic, natural and exotic, it's every bride's dream for her destination wedding.

Playa Blanca is a serene setting overlooking Culebra Bay – perfect for smaller weddings – while Playa Virador, with its spectacular sunset views of the Pacific Ocean, is ideal for larger parties.

Reception

After the ceremony, continue the celebration on the beach for a casual, romantic ambience. Because the beach is a public area, festivities may run until 10:00 pm.

Alternatively, you may choose to move the reception to the Event Lawn. Close to the ocean, so you'll still enjoy the sounds of the waves, the Event Lawn is situated away from the guest rooms. Music can continue until midnight, and this venue offers a more private setting than the beach.

Brunch

After the wedding, gather family and friends for a post-wedding brunch in our fine-dining restaurant, Di Mare. Usually only open to guests at dinner, this sophisticated and romantic setting has a terrace overlooking the beach and offers a private dining experience for your brunch. Di Mare can accommodate parties of various sizes – the private-dining area seats 30, while the restaurant seats 77 indoors and 44 on the terrace.
