Winter Activities

Skiing and Snowboarding
With 193 alpine trails on Vail Mountain and a host of groomed Nordic trails throughout the valley, you can ski every day for a week and never ski the same trail twice. For those who want to take their skills to the next level, daily lessons are available for all skill sets. Our dedicated Ski Concierge will be happy to book you into an appropriate class to ensure you have a great time on the slopes.

Snowmobiling
Snowmobiles can be rented or guided tours can be arranged. Choose from one- or two-hour tours that will take you on over 50 miles (80 kilometres) of groomed trails in the White River National Forest.

Snowshoeing
Trek along tranquil forest trails on snowshoes at the Vail Nordic Center, just three minutes by bus from the Resort.

Sleigh rides
Join in on a cosy horse-drawn sleigh or carriage ride through Vail Valley. Or, take a snowcat-drawn sleigh up Beaver Creek Mountain and enjoy dinner at one of two cabins.

Dog Sledding
A team of dogs will pull your sled through the spectacular landscape of the White River National Forest. This is a great activity for the whole family to enjoy together.

Red Sky Golf Club
The Red Sky Golf Club is a private facility featuring two 18-hole, par 72 courses. Designed by Tom Fazio and Greg Norman, it offers a pro shop and private lessons. The club is a 25-minute drive (20 miles/32 kilometres) from the Resort.

Golf - Vail Golf Club
Vail Golf Club is a public course designed by Ben Krueger. This 18-hole, par 72 course offers private lessons, club rentals, a driving range and a putting green. The club is just a 3-minute drive (1.5 miles/2.4 kilometres) from the Resort.

Tennis
The Vail Tennis Center offers eight Har-Tru clay courts and four hard courts, as well as equipment rentals, private lessons and clinics for all ages. Just a 5-minute drive from the Resort, it is open from dawn to dusk from Memorial Day weekend to September 30.

Horseback Riding
Your personal guide at Beaver Creek Stables will take you high into the White River National Forest, which offers spectacular views and the chance to see wildlife. Don’t forget to bring long pants, insect repellent, a hat, sunscreen, a camera and closed-toe shoes or cowboy boots.

All ages and fitness levels can enjoy this thrilling summer activity with Timberline Tours leading you on an exhilarating ride down the Colorado River.

Learn how to cast like a professional with lessons on Gore Creek. Or, take a professionally guided trip to a Rocky Mountain fishing hole.

Guided tours are available through the Colorado high country with Nova Guides. Or, rent a four-wheel-drive ATV and tour the mountainside on your own.
