Fitness Facilities
The Carlton Club's Fitness Center offers state-of-the-art exercise equipment and facilities. An adjacent pool and sundeck, with views of the city and lake, offer relaxation after your exercise routine.
Monday through Saturday, guests may also enjoy a wide range of daily fitness classes, suitable for all ability levels (fee applies). Personal-training sessions can also be arranged. Please enquire at the Fitness Center for more details.
Yoga
This hatha yoga class emphasises a deep internal focus within a relaxed state, utilising the breath and energy flow. Foundational movements emphasise lengthening and strengthening the body. (90-minute class format on Saturdays also offers Meditation Focus.)
Pilates
Pilates Method is a system of mind/body exercise that teaches economy of motion and body awareness. See dramatic changes as this mat class improves your agility, flexibility and core strength.
Circuit weight training
Build strength and stamina simultaneously as you improve your muscle endurance, body composition and flexibility. This class is an excellent introduction to resistance training, and will compliment your current weight-training program or help you get started on a new one.
Total-body workout
Overall body strength is emphasised as you combine aerobic, strength training and stretching to challenge your muscles using hand-held weights and bands.
Balanced body
A gentle approach to fitness, this class is devoted to defining muscles, improving functional strength and increasing flexibility. Stability balls and stretching bands assist in restoring balance and muscle tone.
Water aerobics
This cardiovascular class is easy on your joints while providing all the benefits of an aerobics class. The first half of the class is focused on cardio while the second half incorporates water strength exercises by utilising resistance equipment.
Abs, weights and stretching
Improve your balance, muscle and core strength and overall flexibility. Each class consists of resistance training with bands and weights, and core strengthening through stability-ball and mat work. Finish with guided stretching to ensure maximum benefits.
Body sculpting
This full-body toning class is composed of lightweight work for the arms and legs, ballet bar movements and stomach and pelvic exercises. Soothing stretching techniques complete the experience.
