Dine in a Work of Art by Jean Cocteau
A legendary French Riviera home is yours for the evening with an exclusive dinner at Villa Santo Sospir. Perched on the Mediterranean shoreline, the estate belonged to the socialite Francine Weisweiller and served as a gathering place for fashionable celebrities, writers and artists, including Coco Chanel, Marlene Dietrich and Pablo Picasso. By far the visitor who most influenced life at the villa was Jean Cocteau, the artist, writer and filmmaker, who lived there with Weisweiller for 13 years. During that time he turned the home into a work of art, adorning the floors and walls with the whimsical mosaics, murals and frescos that remain today.
Your evening begins with a personal tour of the home and its artwork, guided by Weisweiller’s former caretaker, who shares stories of Cocteau’s time in residence and Santo Sospir’s most lively parties. When the sun begins to set, meet on the Mediterranean-view terrace, where you’ll enjoy maître d’ service and sip cocktails and savour French cuisine customized for you by Michelin-star Chef Yoric Tièche. It’s an inspiring end to a most artistic evening.
