- The Hotel is certified to Preferred by Nature, a third-party certification program for hospitality properties.
- Electric vehicle (EV) charging stations are available for guest use.
- Bicycles are available for guest use.
- The Hotel measures and tracks energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, water use and waste generation through Four Seasons global utility management system.
- Vegan and vegetarian menu items are available.
- Linens and towels are replaced every third day, unless otherwise requested.
- The Hotel includes on-site solar infrastructure that supplies hot water for operations.
- Guest room controls and building systems support optimizing energy consumption throughout the property.
- Water conservation measures are in place, including complete laundry shutdown two days per month, a laundry water recycling system, rainwater harvesting for garden irrigation and an on-site wastewater treatment plant.
- Single-use plastics, including water bottles, bathroom amenities and takeaway food packaging, have been removed or replaced with non-plastic alternatives.
- Water bottle refilling stations are available at the Hotel.
- A recycling program is in place.
- Organic waste is diverted from landfill.
- The Hotel maintains an off-site floating garden in Xochimilco that supplies produce for use in kitchen operations.
- Seasonal menu items are available, including ingredients sourced from local suppliers.
- The Hotel serves cage-free eggs.
- A food waste reduction program is in place, including AI-enabled tools to identify, monitor and reduce food waste.
- Surplus food is donated to a local non-profit organization, Ayuda y Solidaridad con las Niñas de la Calle I.A.P.
- The Hotel supports local biodiversity and conservation efforts, including through a variety of experiences inside the "chinampas" (ancient floating gardens in southeast Mexico City) to raise awareness of the work of farmers to produce food through environmentally friendly methods.
- Guests can engage in educational tours at local, natural, cultural, historical or heritage sites to learn more about the local community through our Concierge, including having an authentic ancestral culinary experience in Xochimilco, exploring Parque Quetzalcoatl and discovering the Teotihuacan pyramids.
- Local artists and artisans are featured throughout our Hotel, including works by Mexican folk artists.
- Linen, furniture and equipment are donated to the local community through the RLH Al Rescate program.
- Employees complete annual Human Trafficking Awareness training.
- The Hotel prioritizes sourcing from suppliers that meet our environmental and social procurement criteria, including local and regional suppliers.
- Spa products are primarily from Mexico-based creators.
- Suppliers are encouraged to reduce unnecessary packaging.
- The Hotel conducts ongoing supplier evaluations to ensure compliance with sustainability standards, labor ethics and product quality.
- Priority is given to products with recognized certifications, both international and national, such as USDA Organic, Rainforest Alliance and FSC, as well as Hecho en Mexico, SAGARPA Organic Seal and ESR Certification (Socially Responsible Company).
