- The Resort's Adventure Concierge Team consists of government-certified naturalists.
- Bicycles are available for guest use.
- The Resort measures and tracks energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, water use and waste generation through Four Seasons global utility management system.
- Vegan and vegetarian menu items are available.
- Linens and towels are replaced every third day, unless otherwise requested.
- The City Council has awarded the Resort's beach with "Blue Flag" certification, an annual award given by an international jury to beaches and ports that meet a series of stringent environmental, educational, safety-related and access-related criteria.
- Guest room controls and building systems support optimizing energy consumption throughout the property.
- Building systems and fixtures support optimizing water consumption throughout the property.
- Irrigation and landscaping are designed to optimize water use, including through the use of xeriscaping and drip irrigation with smart controls.
- Single-use plastics, including water bottles, bathroom amenities and takeaway food packaging, have been removed or replaced with non-plastic alternatives.
- A recycling program is in place.
- Organic waste is diverted from landfill.
- The Resort maintains an on-site garden that supplies herbs used in kitchen operations.
- Seasonal menu items are available, including ingredients sourced from local suppliers.
- The Resort serves cage-free eggs.
- A food waste reduction program is in place, including AI-enabled tools to identify, monitor and reduce food waste.
- The Programa de Proteccion de Gallito Marino (Least Tern Protection Program) provides a safe and protected space for gallito marinos (least terns) to lay their eggs, supervised daily by a member of the Adventure Concierge Team.
- Guests can participate in the Sea Turtles Program from late summer into winter, where Costa Palmas and the local government unite to protect the vulnerable Olive Ridley sea turtles that nest along the Baja Mexico coastline; each year, more than 300 turtle nests are relocated and planted safely on the Costa Palmas property where they are protected and tracked.
- Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park, located just off our coast, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Costa Palmas follows strict policies and procedures to ensure the ongoing health of marine life.
- On-site biologists lead Costa Palmas community environmental initiatives, ensuring that local flora and fauna are safe and healthy.
- As one of the few places in the world for whale shark encounters, guests can Adopt a Whale Shark during their stay and be part of the continuing effort to safeguard these gentle giants; all proceeds go to Whale Shark Mexico to continue monitoring whale sharks in La Paz Bay and to keep researching their behavior and potential threats.
- Guests can engage in educational tours at local, natural, cultural, historical or heritage sites to learn more about the local community, including the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains and hiking trips to nearby Sol de Mayo’s waterfall and hot springs.
- Employees complete annual Human Trafficking Awareness training.
- Employees volunteer in the local community through Cortez Rescue & Outreach, a local dog shelter.
- Artisanal products from Mexican creators featured in the retail boutique in The Spa.
