: Electric vehicle (EV) charging stations are available for guest use.
Bicycles are available for guest use.
The Hotel measures and tracks energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, water use and waste generation through the Four Seasons global utility management system.
Vegan and vegetarian menu items are available.
Linens and towels are replaced every third day, unless otherwise requested.
: Guest room controls and building systems support optimizing energy consumption throughout the property.
: Single-use plastics, including water bottles, bathroom amenities and takeaway food packaging, have been removed or replaced with non-plastic alternatives.
A recycling program is in place.
Organic waste is diverted from landfill.
: Seasonal menu items are available, including ingredients sourced from local suppliers.
The culinary team at EMBA KYOTO GRILL applies a root-to-shoot approach to ingredient preparation, transforming imperfect fruit into gelées, sauces and reductions, and using vegetable, meat and seafood trimmings to prepare stocks.
The Hotel serves cage-free eggs.
A food waste reduction program is in place, including AI-enabled tools to identify, monitor and reduce food waste.
: Guests can engage in educational tours at local, natural, cultural, historical or heritage sites to learn more about the local community.
Local artists and artisans are featured throughout the Hotel, including works from painters, sculptors and potters that capture the abundant beauty of Kyoto and celebrate its culture and aesthetic.
Employees complete annual Human Trafficking Awareness training.
Employees volunteer in the local community, including supporting the annual Terry Fox Run and hosting educational programs for high school students.
: The Hotel prioritizes sourcing from suppliers that meet our environmental and social procurement criteria.
The retail boutique in The Spa features artisanal products from Kyoto-based creators, including apothecary goods, pottery and linens.

Kyoto Terry Fox Run 2026

Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 8:30 am to 11:00 am

Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto is proud to host the city’s Terry Fox Run. This inspiring event celebrates courage, hope and the relentless fight against cancer. Inspired by Canadian hero Terry Fox, every step you take helps support vital cancer research at Kyoto University’s Cancer Immunotherapy and Immunobiology Center. Participants can make a donation of JPY 4,000, 6,000 or 10,000, and those who make a donation will receive a commemorative Terry Fox Run T-shirt.
