Lightweight, breathable clothing, swimwear, reef-safe sunscreen, insect repellent (every room is stocked with it) and a light rain jacket are recommended for summer stays. The Resort provides complimentary snorkelling equipment, kayaks, paddleboards and beach essentials, along with golf club rentals and surf gear available through the Resort's golf and SurfX program, so technical equipment does not need to be brought from home.
Yes, the Resort operates year-round with all restaurants, the Spa, the Arnold Palmer signature golf course, pools and beaches and Papagayo Park open throughout the green season. Most outdoor experiences also run as scheduled, but guests can confirm specific excursion availability with the Concierge ahead of arrival.
Yes, the Kids For All Seasons program runs daily for children aged 4 to 12, with supervised activities including guided nature walks, hermit crab hunts, sandcastle building and birdwatching. Older children can pay a visit the Tuanis Teen Centre, while families together can take part in surf lessons, zip-lining at Papagayo Park and beach bonfires.
Yes, summer months – including July and August – are a great time to visit Costa Rica. Humpback whales migrate through the Gulf of Papagayo from late July through October, with sightings peaking in August and September. Guests can join the Resort's Looking for Whales and Dolphins excursion aboard a catamaran, which also passes coves and beaches where pods of dolphins, sea turtles and seabirds are commonly spotted along the route.
Rain at the Resort typically arrives as short late-afternoon showers, leaving mornings clear for outdoor adventures.
