Our Shakusui-en, a traditional Japanese pond garden, is believed to have been the estate garden of Shigemori Taira (Lord Komatsu), the son of Kiyomori Taira, one of the most important military leaders in Japanese history. Described in the epic Tale of Heike, the beauty of our Shakusui-en pond garden has been immaculately preserved and protected for over 800 years. Enjoy the timeless beauty of the garden and immerse yourself in our traditional Sukiya-style tea house.
