A TASTE OF VENETO
Venetian food shows how Venice is a meeting place between East and West. It uses a lot of seafood because Venice is surrounded by a lagoon. Some famous dishes are risotto with squid ink, sweet and sour sar-dines, and Venetian-style liver. They also eat polenta, pasta with seafood, and small snacks called cicchetti, like Spanish tapas. For dessert, they have Baicoli (a type of biscuit) and tiramisu, which is more popular nearby in Treviso but still enjoyed in Venice.
