Sarah oversees Four Seasons legal affairs with a team of lawyers located within each of the company’s operating regions. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, she provides counsel and guidance to both management and the Board of Directors with respect to Four Seasons legal matters, including contract negotiation, business development, corporate governance, legal compliance, transactions and dispute resolution.
A key part of her mandate is to enable the company’s business objectives and growth across destinations and business lines in an appropriate manner across complex legal and regulatory environments.
Leveraging more than 30 years of legal and industry experience Sarah, together with her team, equip decision-makers across the organization with the information to make well-informed decisions, helping to ensure Four Seasons operates in a legal, ethical and socially responsible manner.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
- At Four Seasons: Joined Four Seasons in 1998; held her current position since 2011. Since 2019, Sarah has represented Four Seasons on the Canadian Opera Company’s Board of Directors whose main stage is at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts.
- Previously: Torys LLP, practicing in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate law and securities law.
- Education: Sarah holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Political Science from Queen’s University, and an LLB from Queen’s University Law School. She was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1994.
PERSONAL INSIGHTS
- Family: Family time is good time. Sarah and her husband are fortunate their two sons continue to live in Toronto making connecting easy.
- Travel: Sharing new experiences and places with family and friends nourishes the mind and soul.
- Downtime: Sarah and her husband spend as much time as possible boating during the too short Canadian summer. A good book is always a welcome companion.
