Medina and Souks

Bardo National Museum
Set within a 15th-century palace, the Bardo traces the history of Tunisia over several millennia and civilizations. View one of the world’s largest collections of Roman mosaics, as well as marble statues representing gods and emperors.
Avenue Habib Bourguiba
Inspired by the design of the Champs-Élysées, Tunis’ main street forms the true heart of the city. The avenue features many shops, cafés and restaurants, starting just beyond Bad Bhar and ending at the landmark Clock Tower.
Al-Zaytuna Mosque
Beautiful and historic, the city’s oldest mosque contains 160 authentic columns brought originally from the ruins of the ancient city of Carthage. The mosque was once the very first university in the Muslim Arab world.
La Goulette
Set around an old village harbour, La Goulette now features one of the finest and most modern cruise terminals in the Mediterranean. It’s also known as the home town of actress Claudia Cardinale. Explore the charming shops and cafés.
The Residence Golf Course
Play one of the most beautiful golf courses in the Mediterranean. Designed by Robert Trent Jones II, this 18-hole course is set between the sea and a salt lake, at the heart of a nature reserve where migrating birds and wildlife abound.

Acropolium of Carthage
Sitting on a hilltop, this former cathedral was built in 1890 atop the ruins of an old temple dedicated to the Punic god of healing. The temple may still be accessed from the basement. Today, the Acropolium hosts public events and concerts.
