25 Years of Authentic Luxury and Excellence
One bright cloudless day, Four Seasons Chairman and Founder Isadore Sharp, his wife Rosalie and Chief Financial Officer Roger Garland strolled barefoot on pristine Pinney’s Beach, a three-mile stretch of sun-kissed sand, bordered by swaying coconut trees and a serene Caribbean Sea. As they stopped to take in the view, gazing northward along the leeward shore, they decided that this place could be the site of the idyllic island outpost Mr. Sharp hoped to build. The deal was struck and the papers were signed at historic Hamilton House in Charlestown, Nevis. And, supported by enthusiastic islanders, the initial steps were taken toward the first-ever Four Seasons Resort in the Caribbean.
According to Sharp at that time, “Nevis was really an unknown, it wasn’t on anyone’s radar screen. Everybody asked, ‘Where is it?’ When we looked at Nevis, it was still truly untouched.” Construction on the hotel started soon thereafter in 1989.
Now, twenty-five years since opening, Four Seasons Resort Nevis continues to shine even brighter as the gem of the West Indies and to sets the standard for authentic Caribbean luxury and excellence.
