I joined Four Seasons Explorer at the beginning of 2014. Prior to this, I worked at Four Seasons Resort Landaa Giraavaru. Guests were always commenting on what a once-in-a-lifetime-experience Four Seasons Explorer was so when the chance came to join the onboard crew I said yes without a second thought. Now I know exactly what they meant and I am a very proud member of the Four Seasons Explorer team.
I love the fact that service on board is so personalised and that we get to know guests so well. The restaurant ambience is constantly changing too: every meal we anchor in a different place with a different view. Sunrise and sunset is heavenly, it's almost like a painting in the sky.
One of the best food experiences on board is when guests catch a fish and then have the chef prepare it immediately, just the way they like it. Fresh from the sea, straight to the plate – it couldn't be better. Guests are also always amazed at the quality and range of the food: it’s worldwide cuisine at its very best.
Another favourite night is our beach BBQ dinner. Guests dine at sand tables under the stars with tiki torches and candles. After a feast of prawns, lobster, salads and meats, the team gives a live Bodu Beru performance and everyone joins in for Maldivian dancing.
My advice is to never say no to any food on Four Seasons Explorer because it's all unique: the best ingredients, paired with the best drinks... and don't be diet conscious on vacation! I also recommend dining in the restaurant’s al fresco area to really get the feel of the Maldives and the incredible surrounding views.
Four Seasons Explorer might be a small cruiser but its culinary focus is firmly on international food of the highest quality. And you won't find a more beautiful dining view anywhere in the world.
