When he\u2019s not whipping up innovative cocktails for guests \u2013 his favourite, the Midnight Marauder, is a spin on a manhattan that\u2019s named for the Tribe Called Quest album \u2013 he\u2019s exploring the city\u2019s burgeoning food and drink scene. class=\"entry\">\n<p>\u201cWhen I\u2019m not behind the bar at The Bristol, I\u2019ll take advantage of the afternoon with a trip to the Seaport for a late lunch at <a href=\"http:\/\/row34.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Row 34<\/a>,\u201d Thomas says. \u201cThey have a great selection of oysters, crudo and ceviche \u2013 not to mention the best french fries in Boston.\u201d The class=\"entry\">\n<p>Next up: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.trilliumbrewing.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trillium Brewing Company<\/a>, where Thomas often picks up growlers or a few cans of the IPA. \u201cBefore a night out, I like to host a few friends for drinks,\u201d he says. \u201cWe\u2019ll taste some of the Trillium beers in addition to whatever new cocktail recipes I\u2019m working on. Then, the group heads to <a href=\"http:\/\/yvonnesboston.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yvonne\u2019s<\/a> for dinner, \u201ca consistently fun and eclectic restaurant with a cosy, upbeat vibe\u201d \u2013 a restaurant so beloved, reservations are a must. \u201cIt\u2019s difficult to go wrong with anything from their cocktail list, and when you\u2019re dining with friends the Social Plates section of the menu presents an opportunity for everyone to share. But if you\u2019re craving a sugar rush, Thomas says, Blackbird Doughnuts is a must. \u201cFun fact: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blackbirddoughnuts.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Blackbird Doughnuts<\/a> is the only artisanal doughnut shop in Boston that bakes on site, and they\u2019re unreal,\u201d he says. href=\"http:\/\/www.bostonianbarbershop.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bostonian Barber Shop<\/a>, happens to be right around the corner, so it\u2019s easy to pop in on a weekend if I need a trim,\u201d Thomas says of the barber rated one of Boston\u2019s best. \u201cThey\u2019re an old-school type of shop \u2013 walk-ins only. The owner is a great guy who was inspired to go into the business by his grandfather.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>His next stop is the 1903 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gardnermuseum.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum<\/a>, where the permanent collection includes more than 15,000 pieces of art and such bold-faced names as Michelangelo, Botticelli, Manet and Degas. \u201cI could easily spend half the day exploring the mesmerizing collections, marvelling at the mystery of the largest art theft in the world, or just sitting in the courtyard and walking through the gardens,\u201d Thomas says. Afterwards, nab a late lunch at the newly opened <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eventideoysterco.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Eventide<\/a>. Then it\u2019s off to peruse the wares at <a href=\"https:\/\/saultne.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sault New England<\/a>. \u201cI love the selection of men\u2019s clothing, but they also have great vintage goods and bar accessories,\u201d Thomas says. \u201cEverything they carry really embodies that iconic New England feel.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div
