Immerse yourself for a day in the local cuisine of Langkawi. The experience begins at 9:00 am with a visit to the local market and organic farm with Resort’s Naturalist, Aidi Abdullah, to learn about and gather ingredients for the cooking class. At Four Seasons Resort Langkawi, Abdullah takes you on garden walks and mangrove tours, noting how the Resort reduces its carbon footprint and suggesting how you can do the same.
Sample a local breakfast of roti canai (a type of Indian-influenced flatbread commonly found in Malaysia as a breakfast dish) at a traditional café before heading back to the Resort to participate in a Malay cooking class, where you'll prepare three local dishes withprepare three local dishes with Junior Sous Chef Syed Shahariman.
Chef Shahariman has been the Junior Sous Chef of Four Seasons Resort Langkawi since 2004. His cooking style is grounded in originality, simplicity, nature and freshness, and he is an advocate of home-style cooking and good food.
Next, enjoy the dishes you prepared during the cooking class. From 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm visit the Night Market (Pasar Malam) to sample local snacks and tropical fruits like durian and mangosteen.
