Tanya and Richie Hartman fell in love with each other in 2012 and with Jackson Hole in 2013 – the skiing, the outdoor adventures, the pristine mountain setting. They chose Four Seasons Resort and Residences Jackson Hole as the setting for their special day because the "service at Four Seasons was just perfect for our guests to have an experience they would never forget,” the couple says.

Magical Moments: Tanya and Richie brought their unique tastes to the décor. From National Geographic save-the-dates to wooden state nametags, personal touches were sprinkled throughout the celebration – including the ceremony itself.

"Our ceremony readings were actually written by the readers themselves,” Tanya says. “We invited three couples – married for five years, 38 years and 56 years, respectively – to share their thoughts and advice on marriage, making the readings truly personal, intimate, and at times, absolutely hysterical. Each wrote their remarks in a small notebook I made so we could cherish their words forever.”

The love story didn’t end at the ceremony, however. When guests took their seats at dinner, they found tales from Tanya and Richie’s own romance awaiting under the glass chargers on the table.

“Stories included how we met, how we got engaged, why we picked certain songs to be played, how we honored classic wedding traditions, and other fun facts about the wedding guests may have missed otherwise,” Tanya says. “It was so fun to watch guests faces as they realized everyone had something different.”

Personal Touches: Though far from their home in Ohio’s German Village, the couple still wanted to incorporate some of their favourite local flavours. The Four Seasons bartenders were more than happy to oblige.

“We had three specialty cocktails personalised just for us,” Tanya says. “The Chatty Richie was Hendrick’s Gin, tonic, cucumber and rosemary and named because Richie can be very chatty. The Traveler was a Manhattan made with Maker’s Mark bourbon – and it was my favourite to name because no matter where I’m traveling, a Manhattan always reminds me of America. And then we had a Lindey’s Village Mule, a nod to our storied Columbus neighborhourhood and Lindey’s legendary patio, which is one of our favourite spots back home.”

As a tribute to the destinations they love most, the cherry garnishes that accompanied The Traveler cocktail were served on specialty picks Tanya made using antique map-printed washi tape.

The dedicated team at Four Seasons Jackson Hole also developed a custom menu for the couple, from appetizers like barbecue duck served on a steamed rice bun to a classic steakhouse meal for the main course, featuring a wedge salad and decadent Oscar-style steaks and salmon.

"We wanted cocktails that were reminiscent of our favourites from home – and they were perfect,” Tanya says. “We wanted hors d’oeuvres that were extraordinary and memorable with lots of variety, and we still remember each one perfectly. And to this day, all of our guests remind us of their favourites.”

The Bride Wore: Tanya chose a stunning silk taffeta gown by Legends Romona Keveža and topped it with a white fur shawl. The bridesmaids wore classic black gowns from Fame and Partners and natural-coloured fur shrugs. Flowing greenery and jewel-toned ribbons gave the bouquets a rustic touch.

The Honeymoon: The couple will honeymoon at Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires, exploring the city’s exciting arts scene. They also will travel to Panama, Uraguay, Patagonia and Chile. In a way, their honeymoon kicked off even before the reception was over: The couple made sure to incorporate South American wines into the celebration to share a taste of their upcoming travels with their guests.
