Via Ferrata – Half Day

Overview

The Via Ferrata offers an exhilarating mountain climbing experience along the dramatic granite faces of Rendezvous Mountain. Guided by expert professionals, you'll navigate a series of rungs, cables and suspension bridges that make scaling the rock both accessible and exciting for a range of skill levels. As you ascend, you'll be treated to sweeping views of the Teton Range and the valley below, combining adrenaline and scenery in one unforgettable alpine adventure.

Things To Know

: Participants must be able to hike short but steep distances and climb the rungs on a tall ladder with ease, pulling up their own body weight.
Participants must be at least 10 years of age.
Children ages 10 to 11 may participate only if an additional guide is booked for an additional USD 220. Contact our Concierge for more information.
Children ages 10 to 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
Minimum participant weight is 88 lbs; maximum participant weight is 264 lbs.
The Via Ferrata is not a good fit for those with a fear of heights.
Participation in the Via Ferrata is not recommended after the first trimester of pregnancy.
: The Via Ferrata is a multi-hour active adventure involving both hiking and climbing. Most routes take 1 - 2 hours of consistent climbing to complete.
The guide is there to lead you, but ultimately you are doing all the climbing on your own. There are a variety of different routes fit for different skill levels, from beginner to advanced:
Beginner: Anyone capable of walking and somewhat fit; unsure of how they feel about heights
Intermediate: Higher level of physical fitness (works out 2-3 days/week); has more leg strength than upper body strength; willing to be at heights
Advanced: High level of physical fitness (works out 4+ days/week); strong upper and lower body; no fear of heights or exposure
Guests will check in at the Mountain Sports office, a 5 minute walk from the Resort, then ride up to the Via Ferrata climbing area on the Bridger Gondol.
The Via Ferrata begins at 9000 feet elevation. Give yourself time to acclimate to the altitude in Jackson Hole before your climb. Be sure to drink plenty of water and have a nutritious breakfast. Please tell your guide if you have any pre-existing health conditions or concerns.

: Private Rock Guide, helmet, harness and gondola ticket are provided.
Climbing shoes are provided from women's size 5 to men's size 13. If shoe size is outside of range, please come with rubber-soled shoes.
Guide gratuity is not included in price and is recommended at 20 percent.
Food is not provided.
