Our Alaka`i Nalu (leader of the waves) experience is a great way for guests to understand the power and beauty of the ocean in a safe and respectful way. Groups can experience all that Alaka`i Nalu has to offer with an exclusive group buyout, giving attendees the freedom to choose from a myriad of activities offered, including ocean rib craft, outrigger canoes, stand-up paddle boards, snorkel equipment and more. A light breakfast of avocado toast or breakfast burritos is a perfect way to refuel between wave sessions.
- Golf Tournaments
Playing golf on our Jack Nicklaus-signature Hualalai Golf Course is an absolute must. Let us arrange for a traditional or shotgun tournament for your group, or for a fun twist, try an evening of glow golf complete with glow-in-the-dark equipment and individual and team challenges.
- Anchialine Pond Tour
Your group can discover the unique environment of Hawaii’s anchialine ponds, which form in lava fields near the ocean. Group members will embark on a guided tour with a marine biologist, including a stop at the pond where we raise our exclusive Hualalai Oysters, followed by an oyster and Champagne tasting.
- Ka‘upulehu Cultural Center
Our Mea Ho‘okipa – hospitality ambassadors – invite your group to get to know the secrets of Hawaiian culture. Your guests can learn to string fresh floral leis, make shell bracelets, play the ukulele and dance the hula.
- Swim with Mantas
The Kona-Kohala coast is one of the world’s only places to experience manta rays in the wild. We’ll start with a sunset cruise as we take your group to a spot where these gentle giants gather to feed in the early evening. Snorkelling and scuba gear is provided, as well as underwater lights, while a private guide introduces everyone to the rays for a truly magical experience.
- From Sky to Forest
A helicopter tour of the island will give your guests a breathtaking view of tropical rainforests, active volcanoes and a one-of-a-kind landscape. After landing on a cliff side next to views of Pololu Valley, guests enjoy a Four Seasons-catered lunch before venturing deeper into the mountains for a short hike to see beautiful waterfalls and swim in a refreshing mountain stream.
- Salt of the Earth
During our Salt Harvesting Experience, your group will journey to nearby salt flats with a cultural ambassador and learn how ancient Hawaiians harvested salt decades ago. A private, interactive cooking class with a member of our culinary team will then show guests how to incorporate the salt into their dishes and further explain the ways it was traditionally used in Hawaiian cooking.
- For Coffee Lovers
Treat members of your group to a deep dive into the fascinating world of coffee growing with our Hawaii Island Coffee Experience. In a private tour of a local coffee farm, they’ll meet the farmers, learn what makes Kona coffee so irresistible and end the experience with a tasting paired with petit fours prepared by our Executive Pastry Chef.
