Hiking & Skiing
Geneva is perfectly situated for you to enjoy skiing in the winter or spectacular alpine hikes in the warmer months. The closest place to ski, Mégève, in France, is only a 75 minute drive from Geneva. Chamonix, at the foot of Mont Blanc, is an hour away from Geneva. Mont Blanc, the crown jewel of the French Alps and Europe’s highest mountain, is also a pleasant drive from the Hotel. Other nearby mountains in France’s Haute Savoie region include Les Voirons, Le Môle and Le Salève.
Water Sports on Lake Geneva
Visit the exquisite Lake Geneva, one of the largest lakes in Europe. Sailing is the most popular sport in Geneva, with regular yacht racing held, and there are plenty of opportunities for waterskiing as well. Lake cruises leave from Quai du Mont-Blanc every day from April to October, and range in length from 40 minutes to two hours. Take a tour of the castles and famous homes along the lower end of the lake, or enjoy a tour focusing on the natural history of the Rhône River.
