Museums in Amman
Royal Automobile Museum
The museum was established in 2003 upon King Abdullah’s wishes, and showcases a rare collection of Jordan’s vehicles ranging from Hussein bin Ali’s cars that came to Amman in 1916 to modern sports cars. The museum houses the rover used in filming of Hollywood’s highly successful The Martian, which used Wadi Rum as the backdrop for the Martian scenes. The rover was gifted to Jordan in return for the hospitality with which Jordan received the movie cast and crew.
The Children’s Museum Jordan
At the Museum, children learn through play, interacting with indoor and outdoor exhibits, reading in the Library, expressing themselves at the Art Studio and connecting with nature in the Secret Garden. These interactive spaces, complimented by live educational programs, encourage children to learn through self-exploration in a safe environment.
