Bear Viewing and Mountain Ecology Tours

Experience unforgettable views of wildlife, glacial peaks and sunsets as you travel through the old-growth coastal hemlock and cedar forests of Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains. Some 50 black bears make their home here, including 12 mothers who share their territories with a growing number of daughters. Mountaineering

If you are looking for the next big challenge, the Whistler area has breathtaking alpine mountaineering routes. Some summits are reached by pure alpine rock climbing and others involve a mix of glacier travel, snow and ice climbing. Local guides and courses, from beginner to advanced, are available to the thrill-seeking mountain adventurer. Popular climbs are Wedge Mountain at 2904 metres (9,525 feet), Mt. Matier at 2770 metres (9,085 feet) and Blackcomb Peak at 2346 metres (7,694 feet).

Peak 2 Peak Gondola

This gondola spans the distance between Whistler and Blackcomb in just 11 minutes. Skiers and riders can make the most of their day by moving with ease across the valley to enjoy the best snow and weather in each alpine area. The gondola makes it possible to carve up Whistler's slopes, head to Blackcomb for a victory lap and loop back to Whistler for a well-deserved hot-chocolate break.

The West Coast Railway Association's origins can be traced back to 1958, when the steam engine was in its last days. The Association has grown and evolved since then, but its purpose remains the same: to collect, preserve and restore railway cars and artifacts. In addition, the Association operates a licensed railway. British Columbia Museum of Mining

This historical site contains an Admission Complex, Interpretation Centre, and a new Gift Shop featuring a large selection of mineral-related items, including rocks, jewellery and books. At the Mining House, hear a real-life mine story – and see the enormous Concentrator Building and the 235-ton “Super” Mine Truck. If you book in advance with a tour guide, you can catch the Underground Train and experience a real hard rock mine with live demonstrations. Guided tours include the Underground Train and gold panning. Call ahead to ensure that a tour guide will be on site for a full tour.

Callaghan Country – The Ultimate Canadian Winter Adventure

A once-in-a-lifetime adventure. These day and evening excursions, exclusive to guests of Four Seasons, feature pristine wilderness, fine food and authentic Canadian winter adventure. Your journey begins with either a scenic helicopter flight over the rugged Coast Mountains or an exhilarating snowmobile tour through snow-laden old-growth forests deep into the wilderness, where you will arrive at the magnificent Callaghan Lodge. There, you will experience an action-packed adventure featuring dog sledding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, tobogganing, snowmobiling and fine dining. The Heli Package departs Four Seasons at 9:30 am and the Snowmobile Package departs at 8:30 am. The Overnight Winter Cabin Party departs from the hotel at 4:00 pm, returning the following day at 12:00 noon, approximately. Please contact the Concierge for details.
