Nestled in the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains, Westlake Village lies halfway between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. Seasonal highlights
March - May
- The Malibu Wine Classic features food and wine from the best wineries and restaurants in the area.
- Mailbu Film Festival showcases independent films from around the world.
- Enjoy shopping and free outdoor concerts at the Westlake Village Promenade.
- The Point Mugu Air Show, a three-day event, is one of the more popular attractions in Ventura County. More than 300,000 people attended the 2001 Air Show featuring the U.S. Air Force "Thunderbirds".
- The California Strawberry Festival in Oxnard offers dishes made from locally grown strawberries, and entertainment for the entire family.
- Cinco de Mayo celebrates Mexico's victory over the French army at the Battle of Puebla, with plenty of south-of-the-border-style festivities.
June-August
- The Malibu Arts Festival features local art and a seaside setting.
- The Getty Museum offers outdoor concerts and garden concerts for children during the summer months.
- The Camarillo Greek Festival is held each year at the Camarillo Airport. The Festival includes Greek delicacies such as hand-made baklava, live Greek music, dancing and prizes.
- Camarillo Air Show takes off each year at the Camarillo Airport, a former Air Force Base, with demonstrations of historic aircraft.
- Enjoy the many beautiful beaches in the area, including Zuma Beach, El Matador State Beach and Paradise Cove.
September–November
- Visit the Ventura County Fair, an annual 12-day event, at Seaside Park. The Fair features an array of entertainment, exhibits and culinary treats.
- The Malibu Celebration of Film takes place each October and showcases the "best of" films from the Sundance, Toronto and Berlin film festivals.
- Runners and spectators alike will enjoy Westlake Village's annual Pumpkin Run and Health Fair, which features three races in varied lengths.
- Celebrate Reyes Adobe Days in Agoura Hills, a citywide festival that features cultural events, entertainment, concerts and a parade.
- The Westlake Village Auto Show takes place annually on the first Sunday of October.
December - February
- The Hollywood Christmas Parade draws thousands of spectators to Hollywood Boulevard each year.
- A Christmas Parade and Holiday Festival is held each year in Camarillo's Old Town.
- Enjoy whale-watching off the Malibu coast.
