General information

A unique planned community, Westlake Village nestles among the rolling hills and arroyos of Conejo Valley, 38 miles (61 kilometres) northwest of downtown Los Angeles. Located 15 miles (24 kilometres) inland from Malibu and the Pacific Ocean, the city is built around a man-made lake straddling the Los Angeles-Ventura county line, framed by the Simi Hills to the north and Santa Monica Mountains to the south.

As a result of measures taken to preserve and enhance the surrounding natural environment, Westlake Village has enjoyed consistent growth, contributing to high-quality community services and a low crime rate. Today, 30,000 residents live on both sides of the city, which is recognised as one of the most desirable communities to live and work in the United States. Miles of equestrian and hiking trails, sports, cultural and entertainment activities are available for all ages.

Westlake Village is located on a 26-mile (42-kilometre) corridor on Highway 101, where some of the world's leading aerospace, electronic, computer, insurance and pharmaceutical companies are headquartered. Amongst some of the internationally known names that have called Westlake Village home are the world headquarters of Countrywide, Amgen and Dole Food Company, Inc. On 20 acres (8 hectares) of beautifully landscaped gardens, a new 750,000-square-foot (70,000-square-metre) complex contains an innovative wellness centre, television production studio, full-service spa – and the distinguished 270-room Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village.
