Singapore-native Angela first met her husband-to-be, Mun Fai, at a conference at Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong. “After that, we’ve always had a special affinity for Four Seasons,” says Angela. A few years later, the couple decided to tie the knot in the bride’s hometown, and turned to Four Seasons Hotel Singapore to help mark the next stage of their lives together.
The Scene: “We wanted a simple wedding that was classy at the same time,” says the bride. With that in mind, the couple decided on a red, black and gold colour palette that was carried throughout the day’s events.
Magical Moment: Angela and Mun Fai’s top priority was that their guests have fun, and they set the tone by dancing into their ceremony to the tune of “Angel” by Akon.
The Bride and Groom: While on holiday in the Maldives, Mun Fai surprised Angela when he popped the question during a sunrise hike on the beach. “He’s an avid photographer, so I hadn’t noticed anything suspicious when he told me to reposition myself on the beach. But when he gave the OK and I turned around, I found him on his knees with a ring in his hands,” says Angela.
The Bride Wore: For the ceremony, Angela chose a white strapless dress with a sweetheart neckline, and added a touch of red to her look with a rose pinned in her hair. Tying in gold from their theme’s colour palette, Angela also wore a beautiful, high-collar dress with gold appliqués for the couple’s traditional tea ceremony earlier in the day.
The Honeymoon: After their Singapore celebration, the couple kicked off their European honeymoon with a four-day stay in the historic city of Prague. They then rented a car to drive around the Czech Republic for another four days before heading to the United Kingdom. “All in all, it was a beautiful three-week vacation made up of sightseeing and hiking,” says Angela.
