A popular respite for students, this foothills habitat conservation area is open to people wanting to jog and hike on trails that pass oak, chaparral, grazing land for cattle and beautiful panoramas of the Bay region – on a clear day the skyscrapers of San Francisco are visible. The Dish is home to a variety of vegetation and wildlife. Look for Valley, Blue and Coast live oaks, and birds such as meadowlarks, bluebirds and red-winged blackbirds. Hiking and jogging in the foothills, permitted only on the clearly delineated routes, is encouraged from dusk to dawn. Picnics, games and dogs are not allowed. Please see the Concierge for additional details and directions. The walks take place on Saturdays and Sundays, generally from mid-March through mid-June. Please see our Concierge for details and directions.
