Ayurveda-inspired treatmentsAyurveda is India's ancient traditional system of medicine; it's a Sanskrit word that, literally translated, means "knowledge of life" and is based on the belief that everything that exists in the vast external universe also appears in the internal cosmos of the human body. Our Ayurveda-inspired treatments help balance the body. Chakra dharaThis treatment begins with an assessment of your personal dosha, or Ayurvedic body type. Then, a therapist works to rebalance the body’s chakras, or energy points, by dripping herbal oil on the four main chakras along the body’s middle meridian, which corresponds internally along the central nervous system. Two therapists harmoniously massage the back, scalp, hands and feet to clear toxic blockages, after which the flow of warmed herbal oil heals as it has for centuries – gently yet effectively. 120 minutes – USD 270.00 Suci dharaSuci translates as awakening the body, heart and soul. This revitalisation starts internally with an herbal tea brewed according to your dosha, or Ayurvedic body type. While these natural components soothe from the inside, the therapist works on the body, kneading generous amounts of star anise, patchouli, and fenugreek with coconut oil into the scalp to improve circulation and release mental tensions. A warm and meditative herbal-oil body massage aids detoxification and relaxation, though stronger pressure works best for those in deep need. The refreshing effects are enhanced with a steam bath plus another round of dosha herbal tea to toast this comprehensive rekindling from within. 120 minutes – USD 165.00 Usada SayanThis treatment combines Ayurveda-inspired treatments to maximise their therapeutic benefits. Abhyanga massage with our garden compress calms the body with nurturing deep kneads in preparation for the cleansing Udvartana scrub. With the body at peace, Shirodhara then massages the mind. Linger in a warm herbal flower bath with a cup of Balinese loloh, an organic elixir. 3 hours – USD 190.00 Usada unwindIndian head, neck and shoulder massage, or champi, has been practised for thousands of years. The therapist’s hands move knowingly from the neck and shoulder onto the head, using a highly focused kneading technique to undo years of accumulated stress. This is followed by an equally attentive Abhyanga massage and a gentle but thorough facial cleanse that uses all-natural neem-infused products to relieve irritations and reduce redness. As the neem mask works its wonders, a marma-point Indian massage focuses on releasing any remaining tension from the head’s many pressure points. 3 hours – USD 200.00
